Recycling is a conspicuous priority at the MGM National Harbor hotel and casino in Prince George's County, Md., following a companywide sustainability policy. Guests have responded to the initiative, which features 135 recycling bins throughout the property and separation of recyclables from disposables by staff.
According to a Host Agency Reviews survey, hosted agents earned an average gross income of $40,377 for 2017, a 16% increase over their income in 2016. The survey also found 83% of agents saw a rise in sales last year.

A mixed-use complex in Sykesville, Md., comprising 12 historically designated buildings, has been acquired by Warfield Cos. and is set for redevelopment. Plans call for the property, renamed Warfield at Historic Sykesville, to house a full-service hotel, about 180 residential units, a 27-acre park and 600,000 square feet of retail, office and light industrial space.
